AMCVD is a complete network unto itself with strong Christian values by our parents at a very young age -- and we adhere to those unbending values to this day, every day !
Since most of the charities we work with are religious entities, such as the fraternal organization(s), Catholic parishes, Catholic retreat centers, and other similar organizations, we have a very obvious moral responsibility to do exactly what we promise. As a matter of fact, The fraternal organization(s) extensively reviewed our operations for compliance with all legal requirements. It only makes sense "to do the right thing" at all times.
Exactly how does the process work -- and how do we maximize the donation ?!?
1) When you or a potential benefactor have determined the vehicle you have chosen for donation, just pick up your phone and CALL US ANYTIME, from anywhere in the United States, 7 DAYS A WEEK and we will handle everything in a professional, caring manner.
2) Normally within 24-48 hours, we will have the vehicle of any size or shape picked up and delivered to the nearest auction location within our network.
3) The vehicle is then evaluated as to how it can receive the highest amount at the auction within 10 days or so. Many times, the auctions have consumers AND dealers both bidding. Consequently, the vehicle can receive a higher price at auctions. Luckily, we have the expertise and credibility as an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to entice the avid bidders, rather than an unknown individual trying to sell his or her own car. (Be sure to check out other questions at our FAQ page). For larger vehicles such as yachts, airplanes, and RVs, the auction process may take place on the internet. We will take the time assess the situation with one of our trained experts.
4) Following the auction process, a check is written out to Ave Maria Catholic Vehicle Donations.
5) By this time, the donor will have received an IRS required tax donation letter from AMCVD, since we are an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
6) Upon receipt of check, AMCVD issues a check, minus modest expenses -- which are very much lower than the other companies in the industry -- to your preferred charity, along with a letter from AMCVD stating that the donor has requested your charity as a recipient.
7) AMCVD will then send a thank you letter to the donor expressing sincere gratitude for the donation.
In conclusion, you will be comfortable and confident that we are not only working very hard to optimize your donation -- we are working very hard to help those in need.
